The Band Of Brothers Strategy Overview
It is our contention that God has already begun the work and that there are in fact thousands of already “naturally” established “Bands of Brothers” across the globe in various states of relationship. Some of them may already be functioning as a unit and engaged in some form of work for the Kingdom of God. Knowing men, we suspect though that the vast majority of these Bands of Brothers are either doing business or recreational activities together. They have never seen themselves as possible instruments of God to take up a cause together as a “Company” of men, on behalf of the “Oppressed Poor.” We believe that they need to be envisioned with the sense of adventure and purpose.
We believe that not only is taking up a cause together as a group on behalf of the orphan and widow a litmus test of the genuineness of our faith, but it is essential to our maintaining a well balanced Christian walk. It takes the focus off what do we get out of this and refocuses it on what can we do for others. In fact we need them as much as they need us.
As President John Kennedy boldly proclaimed “Ask not what your country (Kingdom) can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country (Kingdom).
Once identifying and recruiting the Bands of Brothers to God’s war on oppression, the next step must be connecting them with specific battles to fight. These need to be particular projects that as a team or “Company” they can gather together strategize on and be a part of implementing a solution. They need to be spiritually drawn, emotionally engaged and physically involved. We strongly recommend that as a “Company” they visit their projects and meet the people they are fighting for. This will necessitate strategic partnerships with credible organizations that are already on the front lines in the action, and in need of reinforcements. This will also require excellent administrative skills mixed with communication skills to ensure the success of each project and the integration of the various pieces.
